CITIZEN ADVISORY GROUP

Belmont Bio-Ag created a citizen advisory group to provide feedback during the project planning process from a wide range of affected parties. The group includes individuals from the local and regional area who were not knowledgeable of the project when asked to critique it on a volunteer basis and from their experience in environmental, business, and agricultural issues, including being neighbors in the project's area. For more information on the group's charge, see the Citizen Advisory Group Charter or download the Word document at right.

The Citizens Advisory Group initially held eight meetings over the six weeks between October 4 and November 10, 2005. During those meetings, members of the group posted their Hopes, Fears, Questions, and Concerns. The presentation documents as well as public Questions and Answers are available here.

An overall look at the Belmont BioAg project previously issued to the Citizen Advisory Group has been updated and reissued to members of the Citizens Advisory Group. The Belmont BioAg Orientation document and supplements are available here.

The group volunteered to review data and provide feedback in preparation for official permit applications for the project. The plan is for the group to meet less frequently in the future, as part of the company's ongoing environmental management system.
