OVERVIEW
SymbiosysTM includes a two-stage water treatment process designed to take the liquid coming out of the digester and turn it into potable water. The Solid Separator, the first stage in the system, separates out all of the remaining solids; the second stage performs the final filtration. While the system is designed to produce potable water, i.e., clean water, at this point we plan on using this water as part of the closed-loop, continuous-flow process for cleaning the barns and as process water elsewhere in the campus. This means that, for barn cleaning, Belmont will be using water that will not contribute to odor generation.
